Tall muscular beefcake who started out in the 1950’s as a member of the Mae West Muscleman Revue before going to Italy in the 1960’s to star in a string of gladiator epics such as “The Rebel Gladiators” (1963), “Hercules The Invincible” (1963), “The Triumph Of Hercules” (1964) & “Spartacus & The 10 Gladiators” (1964). In the latter half of the 1960’s Dan joined the spaghetti western craze by appearing in films such as “Deguello” (1966), “For A Few Extra Dollars” (1967), “ The Stranger Returns” (1967) & “God Will Forgive My Pistol” (1969). Throughout the 1970’s Dan consistently appeared in small roles in a number of Clint Eastwood films, most notably, “High Plains Drifter” (1973), “The Gauntlet” (1977), “Every Which Way But Loose” (1978), “Any Which Way You Can” (1980) & “Bronco Billy”, in which he played Chief Big Eagle. In 1983 Dan returned to the peplum genre for his final film appearance in the Lou Ferrigno muscleman spectacular “The 7 Magnificent Gladiators”.
