“Mike Hammer” Starring Darren McGavin: After making a string of uncredited appearances in films during the late 1940’s, Darren eased into more prominent TV & film roles in the early 1950’s. However, it wasn’t until 1956 that he found his signature role in the hit TV series “Mickey Spillane’s Mike Hammer” (1956 - 1959). Darren later went on to star in another popular TV series, “Riverboat” (1959 - 1961), which co-starred Burt Reynolds.
