* James was a favorite of Director Sam Peckinpah & starred in 3 of his films, “Major Dundee” (1965), “Pat Garret And Billy The Kid” (1973) & “Cross Of Iron” (1977).

* James was a pallbearer at the funeral of Martial Arts star Bruce Lee.

* His final film appearance was in crime drama “American Gun” (2002).
