Muscle Men Of Peplum

Richard Harrison

After bit parts in Hollywood films such as “South Pacific” & “Master Of The World”, this American muscleman left the US to star in Italian epics such as ”Gladiators 7” & “Medusa Vs The Son Of Hercules” before moving into 1960’s spaghetti westerns, Euro Spy flicks (“Secret Agent Fireball”) & Hong Kong ninja films in the 1980’s.

Richard Harrison in “Secret Agent Fireball”

After numerous peplums Richard Harrison turned his attention to the booming spy genre. His first outing came in 1965 when he played Robert Fleming, Agent O77, in “Secret Agent Fireball” (aka “The Spy Killers). This was followed in 1966 by an unofficial sequel of sorts titled “Killers Are Challenged” (aka “Bob Fleming: Mission Casablanca”). The “Secret Agent Fireball” lobby card at right features Richard in an exciting helicopter action scene.

Avenger Of The Seven Seas(1963) VHS
It's "Mutiny on the Bounty" with pirates, as hunky second mate Richard Harrison seeks revenge against his former captain, a savage scalawag who forced crew members into swimming in shark-infested waters in order to retrieve pearls. Harrison joins pirates to stop the skipper, but soon encounters danger and ferocious, man-eating plants. With Michelle Mercier.

The Beast With A Gun [DVD](1977) DVD
In this violence-strewn crime drama, Helmut Berger leads a group of prison escapees on a rampage targeting cop Richard Harrison, who testified against him in court. After Berger rapes beautiful Marisa Mell, then forces her to join the gang, Harrison hatches his own plan to stop the not-so-good Berger.
