The Bond Villains

Christopher Lee:
Tall, English actor who carved a niche for himself in horror flicks such as “The Curse Of Frankenstein” & “Dracula” (57 & 58) before becoming the Bond Villain, Scaramanga, in “The Man With The Golden Gun” (74). Most recently he appeared in the “Stars Wars” & “Lord Of The Rings” franchises. 

Harold Sakata:
This Hawaiian born wrestler won a silver medal for weightlifting at the 1948 Summer Olympics before easing into film & TV roles. Harold’s most memorable role was that of ”Odd Job”, the tough henchman with the iron hat who takes on Sean Connery in the 1964 Bond classic “Goldfinger”.  

Adolfo Celi:
Italian actor who began his film career in the mid-40’s but didn’t achieve any real notice until he was cast as Bond villain, Emilio Largo in “Thunderball” (65). Other notable films include, “That Man From Rio” (1964),”Von Ryan’s Express” (1965) & the James Bond knock off “Operation OO7” (1967).

Robert Shaw:
English charcater actor who gained world attention playing henchman Donald “Red” Grant in the second James Bond thriller “From Russia With Love” (1963).  Other memorable roles include, Quint, the shark hunter, in “Jaws” (1975) & the Sheriff Of Nottingham in “Robin & Marian“ (1976).

Christopher Walken:
This compelling character actor & Oscar Winner (“The Deer Hunter”) who has developed a reputation for playing bad guys, became a Bond Villain in 1985 when he starred as Max Zorin in “A View To A Kill”. Other notable films include, “The Rundown”, “Brainstorm”, “Batman Returns” & “Gigli”

Richard Kiel:
The tallest Bond henchman of them all, this 7’ 2”, steel toothed assassin, known as Jaws, had the distinction of appearing in 2 Bond films, “The Spy Who Loved Me” & “Moonraker” (79). Other notable films include, “So Fine” (81), “Cannonball Run II” (84), “Pale Rider” (85) & “Happy Gilmore” (1996).

Telly Savalas:
This baldheaded tough guy who was given a purple heart for his service in World War II, became the second actor to portray James Bond’s arch-enemy Ernst Stavro Blofeld in “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service” (1969), the first being Donald Pleasance in “You Only Live Twice” (67). 

Joseph Wiseman:
Former Broadway actor who made nearly a dozen film appearances in the 1950’s before earning the distinction of becoming the screen’s first James Bond Villain in “Dr. No” (1962). Other notable films include, “Viva Zapata” (1952), “The Valachi Papers” (1972) & “Jaguar Lives” (1979).

Robert Davi:
New York born character actor who began his career in & out of TV shows during the 1970’s. One of Robert’s first big screen roles was that of a heavy in the teen flick “The Goonies” (85) but it wasn’t until his role as Bond Villain Franz Sanchez in “License To Kill” (89) that his career moved up a gear.

Gert Frobe:
After more than 15 years in foreign films, Gert got his international film break when he was cast as super villain, Auric Goldfinger, in the James Bond classic “Goldfinger” (1964). Other notable films include, “Those Magnificent Men In Their Flying Machines” & “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang”.

Donald Pleasence:
London stage actor whose long film career consisted mainly of villainous roles, became the first actor to portray Bond’s arch enemy, Ernst Stavro Blofeld in “You Only Live Twice” (1967). Other memorable films include,“The Great Escape”, “Watch Out We’re Mad” & “Fantastic Voyage” (1966).
